NW was the lowest autonomy I saw on the trail. When they bragged about what they do in the OR, it was eye-opening. I didn't interview at Penn or Columbia (traditionally low-autonomy places), but NW was the worst I saw. Should get better with the apprenticeship model, but definitely had concerns.

Still, I don't think that's why so many ppl are ranking last/DNR this year

Would be surprised if one of their faculty described the program as "better than not matching"

I'm ranking every program I interviewed at. None of them were so malignant that I would rather go unmatched. I thought the general rule was to rank everywhere?
