Just echoing what has been said before to encourage others to practice good interview scheduling practices. Many of us may have conflicts that must be resolved, so resolve them earlier than later. Plan to the best of your abilities to maximize your chances, but be timely in your difficult decisions. It doesn't hurt you but it can mean a world of a difference to several others. Do not leave cancellations until the very last minute, aim for a couple of weeks if you haven't been able to accommodate your schedule. Neurosurgery is a small field and things like that can easily be remembered as it is not professional behavior.

I am a senior resident, and I must say it's really weird to me that interview invitations have to be 'confirmed' at all...you'd think (hope) we could trust our future colleagues to tell the truth.
