Thinking of skull base fellowship, esp endoscopy-heavy.
Are there any private practice opportunities for skull-base trained neurosurgeons? Or are the few cases out there being referred to academic centers alone?

That's not to say there's no value to a skull base surgeon in private practice. Lots of people from heavy skull base residencies have done infolded or post residency fellowship then gone into PP. You just won't have a "pure" practice. There's plenty of hospital systems or groups that would have for someone to be a pituitary whacker. It's probably hard to build up complex skull base referral though.
You're most probably going to have to stick with moderate pituitary cases.
anyplace that offers traditional fellow skull base where you don't double scrub with the chief?
How is the BWH fellowship with Laws? Is it competitive? Do they do a lot of skull base work there?
Laws was just forced to retire from active surgical practice due to age. Did his last case fairly recently.
So they shut down the fellowship program as well?
