Step 1: 263
Research: 6 papers, 3 first author, 1 high impact. But 3 of these in plastics, 1 in psych and 2 in nsg. 3 abstracts.
Clinical grades: so far all  honors (but only 4 so far)

here's my problem: remediated anatomy in m1. i could do more ngsy research, but i'm not sure if i'll match with this red flag. should i give up and focus elsewhere?

Pack it up. FM will be a stretch for you.

Lol. forgot to specify but it will be on my mspe that i remediated. i was told by my dean that it might be a deal breaker, is this not true?
I had to remediate too.  Didn't match.

what did you remediate?

I had to remediate Family medicine shelf. but other clerkships are honors or high pass. Is this a deal breaker?
30+ pubs with 10 first author
I took a research year
Plan to do 2 or 3 aways and bust my butt to do well.
step is 245-250.

But how did you compare to that op? That's a high step, good research and good clinical grades so far. One preclinical remediation (and probably his/her first course in med school) will not hold him her back.
Pivot to more neurosurgery research and you're solid

why are you bumping a thread that was bumped 43 minutes ago? annoying.
It depends on how weird you are. if you read as weird, your remediation will get looked at. you seem a little weird to be bumping this thread btw. don't be neurotic, its obvious to residents and attendings. that being said, the remediation probably won't be the reason you dont get interviews except for at top programs.
245 and a remediation will get you screened out at the top programs. Anything 246 and above generally isn't screened out by the computer.
About the pubs. If they're garbage and just written to be written, doesn't make you look better than the individual with 15 but all generally decent work.

hey- yes i am a bit neurotic about this because its a big blow to me. as far as I have heard,  isn't 230 a cut off at most programs including top programs? In terms of pub, no they aren't garbage. i have 4 high impact basic science with 2 fiest author.

Wil someone please just answer my question? I’ve texted so many people from a Pennsylvania area code but no one will give me a straight answer or promise to vouch for me when I interview
