they probably took it from the preliminary data given by ERAS. I'm not sure exactly what explains the discrepancy. Perhaps people receiving 0 interviews and/or switching specialties?

Possibly it's bc people apply to and then don't rank any neurosurgery programs... https://www.aamc.org/services/eras/stats...stats.html

Does anyone know why the match rate was in the high 80s last year if 281 people applied. Did some not rank?
