Places I was pleasantly surprised by:
-Ohio State (great case volume + complexity, great research, beautiful campus, Columbus was a hipster paradise) -Hofstra-LIJ (again, great volume, great hours as a R3 to chief, but weird interview day with pimping. Also had one over-the-top chief resident who was abrasive during interviews) -University of Florida (beautiful hospital, Gainesville ridiculously cheap but somewhat barren, great volume)
