Did anyone do the Barrow sub-i? Does it guarantee an interview? Was the sub-i worth it, or are you a fly on the wall?

Are there any programs available for residents to travel abroad to other countries with American attendings to do complex cases? I've heard of a few Hopkins attendings going to Africa as well as Duke, but I'm not sure if they allow residents from other programs to join them? It would be so cool if this was an official rotation. Thoughts?

What types of things are expected for a medical student to know for sub-I and away rotations? There is quite a bit of stuff to learn, and I am struggling a bit with how to prioritize.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to get a case study accepted quick and easy?
It's a pretty good case study, but admittedly not groundbreaking shit. Just want to put something on the CV and not let it go to waste. JNS already rejected it, and I'm having trouble thinking of another journal for neurosurgery related stuff.
All suggestions welcome

Current student at a top 50 us med school and ive wanted to due ns for a while now. Im worried that my stats arent good enough for me to match:
Step 1: 246
Step 2: 250
80% honors 20% pass
All clinical: 14 pubs ( 5 first author, 4 2nd author) ,9 talks/presentations
