Hello,
Does anyone have advice on finding a research year position between M3/M4? Don't have a home department and have been trying for months to set something up to no avail. I finish third year in about 1.5 months so need to find something soon. I would prefer financial support but would ultimately work for free, if necessary.
Anyone know of any departments that may have a position or how to find these spots? Thank you.

Hello everyone,
how is research from different surgical subspecialties looked at? Is basic science or clinical better?
Have the opportunity to work in a otolaryngology basic science lab in a big 5 university and couldn't find anything neurosurgical.
With the average 15 research experiences people have now it can't all be nsg right?
Thanks!

| Meetings during sub-i's |

Hello all! I'm looking for recommendations on who to set up meetings with during sub-i's, and when during the month to set these up for? I'm assuming chairman and residency program director. I initially thought a meeting would be best at the beginning of the month (to introduce yourself, etc.) but then also realized that asking for letters may come later in the month (once they know you) rather than earlier... so I'd appreciate any advice about this. Thanks in advance!

Can we get a list started (yes, this will be a bit subjective) of programs where fellows run the show? What are the places where resident operative experience suffers because of this. I'd love to get some perspective from those who actually rotated at these places.

Hey everyone,
As sub-I season approaches, I'd love to start a thread on general tips and advice for away rotators for this upcoming sub-I season. Any little pearls of advice, no matter how obvious they may seem, would be much appreciated. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to get started off on the right foot but feels a little intimidated! I know these threads pop up a lot but I hope this thread can be somewhat of a centralized information source for those of us about to start aways.
This site is a great resource and I hope the current residents, attendings, fellows and program coordinators will chime in to help these new set of sub-i's!

Anyone care to share how much they make as a neurosurgeon or what offers they have seen? Neurosurgery always seems to be left out of the physician salary polls.
