Hi,does anybody know about the program in Galveston? Looks like their two hospitals are 30 miles away and they make the residents shuffle almost everyday or on alternate days between the two hospitals? Should I consider them?

My school has a relatively long break and I plan on doing research during this time. My school right now has a decently strong neurosurgery program but doesn't have research in the field/topic I would like to pursue. I would like to go to another institution to do research. Pardon if this is an obvious question, but how would this be looked on by residency programs? Also, are there any pros/cons to this? Also, any helpful tips for research during breaks would be much appreciated!

Seeing as residencies are getting unionized and the efforts made to suppress unions, its gotta be a big deal. Hell, Loma Linda tried to say their religion forbids unions. For those in unionized programs, did unions make a meaningful difference to the neurosurgery residents, or are they just good for getting a raise and free covered parking?

Trying to move back to Los Angeles and had a few questions:
- How do these 3 Los Angeles programs compare?
- Which program has the best subi experience?
- Which program is better when it comes to operative training?
- How do the enfolded fellowships compare at the 3?
- Which program makes residents most competitive for post-residency fellowships?

| Enfolded tumor fellowships? |

Plenty of Enfolded spine/endovascular options, but anyone know which programs are open to taking or have an history of hosting enfolded cranial/tumor fellows? Most if not all appear to be post grad or cater to home residents primarily.

As per title, is it still possible to have a sustainable complex cranial practice similar to Liu, Morcos, Couldwell, etc.? Not particularly interested in endovascular and also I feel that once you go that route you’re stuck with stroke call despite snagging the occasional open CV case, but to me seems it would be hard to build a strong tumor practice when labeled the endo guy. That’s also 2 years dedicated to non-microsurgery... On the other hand, not doing endo I would likely have to supplement heavily with spine as a junior attending and am overall less marketable than endo trained neurosurgeons. Appreciate what others think

Anyone putting hobbies for the eras experiences? How many is too many? Most of my activities were concentrated into a few experiences throughout medical school so it is a bit of a struggle to make 10 experiences.
