To all these "senior residents at a top 10 program"s, what would you say ARE strong requirements for matching where you are? I'll format for you:

Step 1:
3rd year grades:
# publications (#clinical, #basic science):
Research year/PhD:
Anything else crucial:

Obviously personality, fit, letters are important, but these three are at least objective and can give us an idea of what is really important for where you are

+1 Another senior resident at a top 10, our program doesn't weigh grades heavily due to medical schools having different curricular designs

How much do residents/attendings look at our written evaluations from our third year rotations?

lol. You realize that if you post twice from the same computer the above happens, right?

Can any senior residents comment on this paper as well?

I’m glad someone else also picked up on this. This situation has happened multiple times on this forum.

MD student with no home program. My Dean asked the closest program if I could do an away rotation and was told I must apply to all of my in state programs first. Even though the in state programs are 100-200 miles further away.

Is the closest program across state lines?

Yes, but it also has a lower number of COVID-19 cases than the other in-state cities. So it does not make sense if the goal is to "minimize travel and keep within regional disease demographics."
