There were just people who worked harder ?

I have a 260+, straight honors through medical school, 10+ pubs and many extracurricular stuff. Extremely strong letters from my subIs and mentor
how do I only have 6 interviews?

1. You didn’t apply to many places, or haven’t applied to places that have released interviews.
2. Your letters are actually very weak and you didn’t make a good impression on your sub-I’s, either through personality or work ethic or ability.
3. There is a bright red flag somewhere in your personal statement, your MSPE, or your letters.

If all of what you’re saying about your stats is true, it breaks down to pretty much these 3 things. Take your pick.

I would tend to agree. So take a chill pill. Everything will work out.

In the mean time, try to remember that people out here on this website might be sitting on zero interviews without your stats, so try to be a little sensitive and not complain openly about having 6 interviews with those stats.

One thing that I hope gives everyone hope. I’m in the 220s for both step 1 and 2, single digit pubs but my subIs wrote me amazing letters (said it was the best ones they’ve ever written and they’re ranking me to match). Definitely weeded out of programs but I have 10 interviews (best one is top 10) . Hopefully we all match but I know I was freaking out about getting interviews, there’s a spot for everyone. I’m honestly a bad applicant on paper but work ethic trumps

Yep. No one cares that you can stand for 9 hours behind 3 people on a skull base case, or show up in the morning and pull labs off epic for patients. You simply aren't given enough responsibility on Sub-Is nowadays to truly be able to stand out (from a performance standpoint).

Personality is a whole different story and the rotation basically becomes a way to see if we like the applicants we want on paper in real life.
