When is the appropriate time for the "you're my #1" love letter? Is it different this year with interviews starting later than usual?

Think it'll be in Late Jan or early Feb depending on when programs are having rank meetings. If you're pretty decided on one after completing interviews, consider asking residents there when the rank meeting is and also letting them know your intentions and they may be able to advise you how to approach it

I see that some programs are continuing to add dates. Is it normal for IIs to be extended well into the cycle? (Is there still hope haha)

Yeah idk about illegal but felt like one of those stress interviews where they push you and see how you react under pressure. Impossible to get to know the faculty tho

You can tell a condescending questions from pressure questions lmao...idk if it is ever appropriate to test someone how they handle stress by being condescending during interview. Remember this is a professional atmosphere, being condescending during an interview is never appropriate...but do people do it? Yes. But then idk if it serves a purpose as testing the applicants ? |
