Not sure how Carter leaving will impact "prestige" in long run, but UCSD should be covered in all areas except gliomas since both carter and chen are tumor guys. With their new skull base team on board, the only thing slot they need to fill is GBM surgeon/scientist.
Interestingly, they recruited Jeremy Rich from cleveland clinic. For anyone into glioma research this is huge. For those who aren't into GBM research, probably doesn't matter http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news...story.html
