Want something to keep key facts fresh in my mind.

| Paternity/Maternity Leave |

Curious how does your program handle paternity and maternity leave? With the new ACGME rule, residents are allowed to take up to 6 weeks of paid paternity leave if residents have enough PTO in their banks.
- What about maternity leave?
- What about faculty, do institutions give paid paternity/maternity leave for faculty outside vacation time?

We all know the big ones. CNS, AANS, SRS, etc. At the end of the day no one could care less about that one line on your CV where you presented a poster (like 400 other people that day) or a podium presentation (like 150 people that day). That person you think you "networked" with has already forgotten your name (presuming you're not already a big name). So why then, would you continue to fork up 800+ dollars to go to these conferences? The only reason I'd personally do it is for some sort of award (with hopefully some monetary value).

| to MD PHD or not |

Hello peoples. I am deciding between two t-5 med schools. One offers a near 99% MDPHD internal acceptance and the other only 50 percent meaning a sizable chance I don't get it. However the one with 50% is a better fit and I see myself being happier there. If I aim to be an academic neurosurgeon with a lab one day, how worth is it to get the PHD, or is an enfolded postdoc in the right place enough to go grant hunting. Will I be regretting the lack of PHD in 15 years when going for the elusive RO1.
Thanks

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on good resources to learn basic/foundational neurosurgery concepts? Start my sub-I in 3 months and it would be helpful to have a good base of foundational knowledge being going in. I took a look at Greenberg but it doesn't seem to the greatest introductory resources.

What offers are you seeing for hospital employed or group practice for endovascular with X% general neurosurgery component? Looking at academic affiliated 600k base/productivity bonus with higher proportion of open/endo vs. 750k base/productivity bonus for hospital employed but about 50% or more spine and general
