It seems like this information isn't always captured in rankings or typical conversations about programs, but it should be an important consideration for applicants thinking about the next 7-8 years.

Clinical Spine Surgery Fellowship 2023 and 2024
 
The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Arizona in Phoenix is accepting applications for a 12-month post-graduate complex spine surgery fellowship position for 2023 and 2024.

The clinical fellow will be involved in the operative and non-operative management of spinal disorders of Adults and Children including deformity, degenerative spine disease, trauma and spinal oncology.  Exposure to both minimally invasive techniques and complex, open reconstructive approaches will be emphasized.  In addition, the fellow will be involved in supporting the research initiatives of the Spine Surgery Program and will work jointly with spinal neurosurgeons and orthopedic spine surgeons.

Requirements:  This position is open to graduates of ACGME accredited neurosurgery or orthopedic surgery programs (or their equivalents.)

Everyone knows about the top programs like Barrow/UCSF/Pitt/Mayo, what are some hidden gem/underrated programs?

Just wondering what a reasonable expectation of a starting salary would be for a pediatric neurosurgeon at an academic practice? Would having 500k as your threshold be too high or too low?

Who has to use the standardized letter template? Is it just the chair/program director and the gen surg letter? Or do other faculty that you have asked to write the letter need to use it too?
