Interview Invites 2019-2020
The problem with neurosurgery is that you only need ~10 interviews to match but people who do match go on 16-17 which unnecessarily eats up interviews.

People match with 10 interviews but I hear about people every year not matching despite going on 12+ interviews. Plus, didn't charting outcomes list that 16.4 ranks is a 90% chance to match?

Honestly the problem isn't other people "taking" interviews, it's just that the people complaining weren't qualified to get them and are looking for something to blame other than themselves and the competitive selection process that neurosurgery has become.

So I’m stuck with 10 invites only. 260 multiple pubs. My away letters took a long time so missed first round of invites. Starting to think I’m screwed..

But is this actually a problem since neurosurgery virtually never has unfilled seats?
