So more people will rank them top...Idk...heard from multiple people and specialties...were told they would rank to match or even top 1...then ended up matching lower or did not match at all when they rank them top like they were told

Top programs don't give a shit about anyone other than the cream of the crop applicants applying every cycle. Go look at spreadsheets from prior years and see how many students matched at desirable programs without ever doing a sub-I there. Funny how that works.

yes some programs i heard allow (but that was via word of mouth i am not sure the name). some place I tried said no though
