Do MSPE comments become important if your school has P/F clinical grades?

Add on if your school does not publish rank/adjectives and does not participate in AOA...

Don't have any peers at my institution applying to nsgy this year, so I feel a bit in the dark. Is it generally accepted that applications for most sub-i's won't be open until April 15 and won't start until August 1st according to the guidelines? Has anyone heard of institutions doing otherwise?

How do you guys feel of boards this year? To me it's way harder than before and I don't think I am going to pass. What do you recommend? Any test takers who took it this year and before?

Are step scores still important for seeking competitive fellowships? And what other factors are considered important?

So much of this forum is just anonymous name dragging and ego boosting. Hopefully medical students will understand that this is a profession that can have moments of selflessness. What was the moment, mentor conversation, or patient encounter that made you fall in love with the profession?

Anyone knows how PD will evaluate applicants with step 1 score and P/F grade for 2022-2023 cycle? It will be mixed.

Mostly just the ones with huge peds volume and good children's hospitals (i.e. Boston Children's, CHOP, etc.), or are there programs that particularly excel in prepping people for peds careers? Any intel on which programs dedicate the most time to peds rotations? My school doesn't have a children's hospital and I'm not sure what factors to prioritize.

What are the hours like? General surgery is pretty cush, does anyone know about NS? Thank you
