Anyone care to share some examples of pimp questions you’ve had? Or best sources to prepare a knowledge base for sub-i’s? 

I have no clue whether they will be simple or obscure or about research or anatomy. I read Greenberg casually when I have some free time but not sure if that’s the level should be aiming for.

How common is it for academic neurosurgeons to do basic research? For the ones that do own a lab, what's the usual split between operating time, clinic, and basic research?

why would any program pick me over their subIs?

Would having something like this but for neurosurgery be something you guys would want?

Did anyone do a sub-I at Kentucky? I have an interview invite from there, was wondering what your experience was. Thanks.

first of all, good luck on interviews everyone. SUNY Buffalo is my home program, and I'm interested in the overall idea of the guys that got invited here. I get that no one wants to completely expose themselves (which is very likely if given enough details), but just a range on some parameters like pubs/presentations, scores, LORs and where you did your aways...etc. I'd really appreciate it because I wanna see if there's much of a difference between what I'm told and what's really happening (likely none).

Submitted an abstract that's a digital poster; what else do I do at the conference? Is it difficult to network? Personal experiences welcome.

What is the process for sending updates to programs, i.e. manuscripts etc. Do you email PDs or PCs directly, or ask your med school admin to email them? 

Also, is this a good idea?

How many invites have people received? #programs applied?

Do neurosurgery programs send out rejections this early or ever if they are not going to consider you at all? I have friends in other specialties getting rejections already.
