Although neurotrauma/neurocriticalcare is a substantial part of most neurosurgery practices, it is a fairly new sub-specialization. What are the best fellowships available across the country?

Wondering if anyone would recommend doing neurosurgery over IR to pursue endovascular/vascular neurosurgery in the future? Obviously you can only be dual trained as a neurosurgeon which is appealing but it seems like the NIR guys have a foothold in the field as well.
I’m currently a MS3 at a top 5 med school, 260+ with 5 first author basic science papers in cerebrovascular. Both my home programs in IR and neurosurgery seem supportive of me pursuing their specialty but I don’t see one being better than the other besides IR being a shorter/easier residency but may be harder to get into.

I’m a resident at an east coast program. I think attendings and programs have many ideas on what they think applicants are looking for in a program, but some of these ideas may be outdated. Why not ask you. What is the 2022 Neurosurgery applicant looking for in a program?

| Is hypothalamic deep brain stimulation common? |

Entering med student here. Curious if DBS is ever done on the hypothalamus. Are these rare cases, or would most DBS centers (at say academic hospitals) have some experience with hypothalamic DBS?

I was in NSG for 2 years, left and finished anesthesia residency. Have been an attending for a year but am still missing neurosurgery. Has anyone ever finished a residency and then completed neurosurgery after? I don’t care about the timing and can get good LOR from colleagues in my anesthesia program and old neurosurgery attendings. Looking for constructive advice, and no trolling, thank you.

Is the RUNN course worth it? Looking at the schedule, I can see a full week of lectures from 7 AM to 9 PM. Theoretically speaking no time to explore Boston or have personal time. Would appreciate some input from the past attendants.

Hey guys,
Noticed that HeadNeckBrainSpine is down. Are there any other similar resources out there for looking at neuroanatomy?
Alternatively, maybe we could fundraise to get the domain back up
