The program I matched to for its location is way more malignant than I expected and I'm having buyer's remorse. I love the rare times I get to actually do neurosurgery or when anyone teaches me something, but it usually never happens. It's terrible coming in to work every day. Any PGY-2 openings this upcoming year?

Anybody have any insight on this program? Allows you to graduate medical school in 3 years with guaranteed NSGY match.

I’ve noticed more and more neurosurgery residents and attendings have a strong presence on social media. My guess is patients will correlate online fame with competence. I think it’ll eventually put pressure on others to put themselves on the Twitter platter. Do you think social media is becoming our new referral network?

Any advice for prepping on upcoming interviews? What I've heard is read read a bit about the program, know the structure, read your own papers and maybe the papers of faculty. Any other advice? Thanks in advance everyone

I’m sure all of us are wondering this. Despite nrmp data I’m curious at this point in time what’s considered a good amount?

For foreign medical graduates, what's the difference between a pre-residency position or a clinical fellow position.  Does it matter??

Basically the title. I’d like to get great training, be comfortable bringing my skills to the program, train under a great mentor, and go to a place with a brand name. Not sure how important all of those are, or where to even start looking. Any advice would be appreciated.

I used Doximity ranking to get some impression on which programs where out of reach, which were mid-range and which were reach programs, if there is anything like that for neurosurgery.  But honestly, I was surprised to see many big name institutions for medical school ( not neurosurgery)  where ranked lower than I had expected and vice versa. I wonder how much you all agree with this ranking for residency application purpose ? 
Also,is there a reason why Doximity does not put numbers to their list, so we know where programs are ranked at. I judge by how much I have to scroll to see the program name 

I have 4 letters on ERAS.

- home chair
- away chair
- NSGY mentor
- basic science research-year MD-phD non NSGY PI

And I just got my away #2 chair letter. Already have a few interviews. Would it be worthwhile to email this 5th LOR remaining programs, or overkill and doesn't matter?
