FACT
MASSIVE increase in DO schools
MASSIVE number of re-applicants from previous cycle
MASSIVE increase in international applicants, due to Biden's pro-immigration visa policies
MASSIVE increase in interviewing because of virtual zoom interviews
MASSIVE increase in student loans and LOTS of desperate applicants.
In the future:
Pass/Fail means MASSIVE increase in applicants because of a lack of USMLE filter
Things are going to get really bad. Top applicants are scrambling or can't match. Lots of applicants never end up matching even in family medicine. Things are getting real, real bad out their.
Take care boyos!

Hi,
I don't know how to gauge how things are going now.
So far, I've gotten 6 interview invites, but got my first rejection yesterday.
Feels kinda rotten getting a rejection straight away. Wonder if I was filtered out.
Homey, you got 6 interview invites and we're still in early-October. You're gucci so far.
This field is ultra-competitive and hard to get into. Most places will not grant you an interview. If you get 20+ interviews, you've done well. You've got 6 already. More will come.

| Questions about Subdural Hematoma Evacuations |

My colleague and I are participating in a course called The National Science Foundation's Innovation Corps (I-Corps) and are performing some background research on an unmet need in the field of subdural hematoma evacuations. We would really appreciate any insight on any one or more of these questions:
When you were performing your last subdural hematoma evacuation, what was the biggest challenge you faced?
How long did your last procedure take?
When you have an older patient, what is your thought process when deciding what is the best way to enter (craniotomy/burr hole/other)?What are your thoughts on a surgery that is faster but less effective at preventing SDH recurrences vs. slower but more effective at preventing recurrences?
Thank you for your time and help!
