Hi All,
Which programs have the best vascular experience? Especially open/skull-base caseload or enfolded fellowships.

IMG's have a harder time matching but what about green card holders who are not US citizens?
Long story short, green card expires in 6 months. Have choice to become citizen but I must give up my birth country citizenship. Would I be looked upon unfavorably as a green card holder?
I know for sure that ERAS requires all that information to be provided in demographics. If I renew it would be good for all of residency and a few years after that.
I am a US MD student at a decent (but not top 40) medical school. Lived in US 18 years, English is fluent, but still have foreign name that's a dead giveaway I wasn't born in the US.

| Neurosurgery with no neuro research |

Hi everybody,
I am a medical student (just became a 4th year), interested in applying into neurosurgery. The issue is I have no neurosurgery or neuroscience research. I do have plenty of research in other areas (immunology, basic science) and several first author publications (all in basic science application to clinic). I earned a PhD (nothing to do with neuroscience, or anything to do with neuro or surgery for that matter). I did do one small group project on neuroscience in my undergrad, which resulted in a poster. I am wondering what your advice is about how programs will look at this and what I can do from now until October to enhance the application.
Have any of you residents had a similar experience? (came to neurosurgery late and still matched?)
Thanks for any advice.

Hypothetical question: If you are fellowship-trained in a subspecialty and entering an academic practice, is it possible to not do any spine even as a junior attending?
Nothing against the field, just not my cup of tea...
